B meet competitors that are not scheduled to swim in the A meet next weekend will conclude their season this week.  Those still competing in A meet relays will continue to practice next week.
 
As always, I am trying very hard to get as many A meet relays swum as possible.  It can be a really fun meet, it gives kids great experience, it's the best way to get as many kids on both rosters as many swims a possible.
 
Our league rule is:  maximum of 3 races, maximum of 2 individual races.  Also, if an athlete makes an A meet qualifying time, they cannot compete in the B meet.  However, an athlete that does not qualify for individual races in the A meet, CAN still participate in the A meet as a member of a relay, but then would only be eligible for 2 races in the B meet.

Saturday, Feb. 3, at Hamilton middle school.  Warm up begins at 8, meet at 9.  Please be early, check in with your coaches by 7:30.  The earlier we are, the better deck space we can claim.  It's a big meet, should last about 2.5-3 hours.

A Meet:
 
Friday, Feb. 9th 11&Up @ Holland Aquatics Center (this time we swim in the big pool where our turn and dive clinic was).  Warm up begins at 5, meet at 6.  Please check in with your coaches by 4:30.  Expect over 3 hours of races.  Snack and meal accordingly.

Saturday, Feb. 10th, 10&Under @ East Kentwood High School.  Warm up begins at 8:30, the meet at 10:00.  Please check in with your coaches by 8.  Expect more than 3 hours of races.  Good healthy, easy to clean up snacks.  Any thing with too much sugar will leave them sluggish and slow come race time.

As we enter Championship Week, we thought it would be fun to provide each of the swimmers with a SWAG bag of fun goodies to wish them luck as Grand Haven Swim Club looks to bring home the gold!

We are looking for donations and volunteers to assist with the bag assembly and distribution. (Don't worry if the math looks funny for some of the donations :-)  We have some leftover items from our home swim meet that we are planning to use up as well.)

Our swim meet is away in Ludington this Saturday (1/27), and we have the need for a few volunteers to help make this meet successful for all of the children.  Please volunteer if you are able.

This weekend's events for your swimmers have been posted on the 1/27 - Ludington AWAY page in the "Time Entries" link.  Please look and see if your athlete is included/excluded appropriately.  I say rough draft because I suspect there will be changes.  I am not interested in races, just attendance.  Most races are either what the kids asked for or what I want to see them in prior to our championships.
 
Note:  Ludington did not make events for kids who are 15+, but any athlete hoping to swim will.  I can enter them in exhibition heats against similar speed swimmers and get everyone experience and times.

Coach Hamm is asking for RSVPs for Ludington plus any/all Championship meets that would be applicable for your child's age group.  Please visit the following GHSC Weebly pages to RSVP with regrets only.  (Note: Whether or not your child has made a cut time for the "A" meet... there is a chance they could be asked to swim in both A and B meet.  Therefore, if you cannot make one of those dates, please RSVP for the dates you cannot make)
