Coach Hamm has some great ideas for fun events this summer like....

• an overnight swim/movie event at our pool. 
• a lake swim/triathlon. 
• an outdoor meet at any pool in West Michigan against ANY opponent.

These events would be fun for our team, however they need parent support to make them happen!  We need individuals that would be willing to help coordinate these events.  If you can help with one or more of these fun events, please email Coach Hamm (bnshamm@yahoo.com) and Amy Tolliver (tolliveramy@gmail.com) as soon as possible.

Dear GHSC,
 
I hope your Spring is moving along wonderfully.  We are planning for our up coming season.  Attached is our Spring season flyer, expect it in your schools soon.  Please, if it is not their by May 1, please let me know and talk to your school principal.  We know our program is growing and their are limitations, however, if our biggest problem is having an overly large program that needs help, so be it.  But it is our goal to make competitive swimming available to ALL athletes in our community, and our schools are our best source for our information.
 
So, in a nutshell, here is our upcoming season:
 
May 2    - Parent high school, 7pm, location TBD
May 14  - first day of spring after school practice.  Time to be determined, but similar to fall, likely minnows 6-7, dolphins, 6:30-8, sharks 7-8:30
4 invitational swim meets (USA-type meets, meant for our league... smaller version of the USA programs) 6/2, 6/9, 6/23, 6/29
3 dual meets, 6/14, 6/28, and 7/12
Championship meets:  12and under A meet - 7/17, 13 and Up A meet - 7/18, and 12 and Under B meet - 7/19
 
I would love an overnight swim/movie event at our pool.  I would love a lake swim/triathlon.  I would love an outdoor meet at any pool in West Michigan against ANY opponent.  These events are possible, but not without parent support.  We need individuals that would be willing to spear head and coordinate these events in order to help keep the fun and the age-group, in our program.  Please let me know if you will take the reigns, we cannot wait until mid-May to start planning these type of events.
 
Finally, with regard to our co-op with MLA, I have not had much feedback of our program from last winter. We worked with MLA to offer some USA opportunities to our athletes.  I am currently working with Coach Whitehead to see if we wish to continue to pursue some shared experience in our programs.  I am looking for feedback with regard to that plan.  Did you participate?  Was it what you expected?  What you wanted?  What should we change? Did you not participate?  Why not?  Cost, time, or any other information you can give me?  Will the summer programs both be of interest to you? 
 
Finally, below the signature line are several summer camps for swimming (in no particular order).  A great way to get those kids that truly have the spark, to pursue the sport on their own, with some great coaches and locations.
