Dear GHSC,

I cannot believe I missed an outdoor meet... and I cannot believe it rained!  It seems like the kids had a great time and swam well.  Thank you so much for your dedication and attendance.  When we all commit, arrive, and compete, we sure do make it easier on the coaches.  A special thanks to Arin, Christy, and Margie for all their help in making this event happen! And it looks like they swam great at Zeeland too!  GO kids GO!

Tomorrow we swim at West Ottawa.  Please be sure the kids are on deck by 7:45.  WO is not known for opening their doors exceptionally early, so plan to arrive at or after 7:30.  Warm up starts at 8, events at 9.  Please see the Meet signups tab for location and entry report.

Also, Friday, there will be NO practice, we are swimming at Hudsonville.  This will be our last invitational meet. Warm up beings at 8:30, events at 10:00.  I will be on deck at 8:00 trying to get us deck space.  Again, please check the signups tab for map and entry report.

We are getting close and winding down soon.  Keep getting them into those meets and please RSVP for our home meet 7/11.

That was a good looking meet.  The kids stayed focused and I was very pleased with their swims.  There were however some incidents that occurred that were not on the pool deck.  Please remember, we are responsible for all our kids whenever they enter the building.  It appears some people were wandering around the high school (which just sounds so obviously wrong to me I never felt the need to suggest we keep our audience and athletes in and around the pool) and some personal items were stolen.  Please, let's do our part and remind all our team, those in the pool and out, that we are not allowed into the school other than to use the restrooms.  I will make it a point to address the kids when I get back on deck.

HAMILTON RESULTS

Saturday we go to Zeeland.  Coach Arin and the gang will be there to guide, advise and encourage the kids.  I will be out of town.

Monday we go to Muskegon Country club for an outdoor dual meet (my dream!).  If the weather goes bad, be on the lookout for a Remind message.  If the meet gets cancelled, we will just call it a day off.  On your way to their pool, please note, much of Lakeshore Dr near the CC is closed.  It looks like the best route might be to take W. Sherman all the way west to Lincoln street north.  That should get you past the closure.  Please allow extra travel time to deal with possible changes.  Below is a copy of the entry report for Monday's meet too.  Please review it and be prepared to notify coach Arin, Margie and Christy of any necessary changes.

Thursday we will travel to West Ottawa.  More on that early next week.

There's a lot of info here... I hope I get it all.

Tomorrow we swim at home against Hamilton.  Please have kids on deck around 7:30-7:45.  Later than 7:45 and I assume they are absent and will be scratched from relays.  Warm up starts at 8, events at 9.  Should be done by 11:30-ish.  Entries are posted on the meet entries tab.  Please check again, minor changes have been made.  Feel free to write your athlete's events on their hand.  We will add lanes and heats later.  Also, please come prepared to help time the kids behind the block.  It's super easy, and you get up close and personal with the kids.  No better seat in the house.

Friday, practice as usual.  No Coach Hamm.

Saturday we travel to Zeeland.  A two session meet, young ones in the am, older after lunch.  Entries are posted on the meet signups tab. Again, no coach Hamm. 

Monday,WE DO have a meet at Muskegon Country Club.  Please be sure all the coaches know your planned attendance by Friday's practice.  It will be a traditional dual meet.  We will have our fun relay meet later this year.  Most entries should be the same as tomorrow's meet... that gives us a great chance to see what good learners they are.  Entries, maps and start times will be updated on our signups tab later this evening.

Monday will be the last chance to signup for Hudsonville meet.  A million pardons for the tab being available with little information.  It arrived yesterday and is posted now.  Signups will be open (reopened) until noon on Monday.  The Hudsonville meet is next Friday, a day time meet.

Tuesday and Wednesday, practice as usual.

Thursday we travel to West Ottawa for a dual meet, 8 am warm up, 9 am events, be entering the building at 7:30.

Friday, Hudsonville invite.

Please check the meet signups pages for the meet entries for both Hamilton and Zeeland meets. 

For Thursday's meet against Hamilton we will need some volunteers to time at the meet. Please have your athletes on deck ready to go by 7:45, our doors should be open at 7:30.  Warm up starts at 8, events at 9.

For Saturday, it is a 2 session meet.  Please check the meet information packet for warm up and event times.  Please have your athlete on deck 30 minutes prior to warmup.
