Good Afternoon GHSC,

Just heard about the pool, practice is on, in the pool as planned.  Yay!

Now, let's move to tomorrow.  Tomorrow is the deadline to RSVP for the Zeeland Dual meet on 12/8.  Please note, EVERY athlete is IN the meet until I see an RSVP declining attendance.  As a team, every athlete is expected to attend each of our dual meets.  Therefore I put each athlete into the lineup.  That means they WILL be on a relay.  If someone neglects to attend and did not RSVP in the negative, that means their relay team mates will be missing a relay member and that relay will likely be scratched leaving them without a race.

PLEASE, if you will not be able to make the meet next Saturday, please let me know that by RSVPing on our weebly site only.  Texting me and/or emailing me are not an effective method.  I use the generated list of available athletes to create my lineup and do not take the time to surf through emails and texts to recall which of 75 athletes would not be available.

Thanks for your help in making this process work as well as it can.

Dear GHSC,

In the immortal words of Forest Gump, "It happens."  Well, it has happened to us.  The pool is still under repair.  The pool temp has dropped well out of healthy range.  There are repairmen on their way, and if all goes well, we could be in the pool tomorrow, but for today the pool is closed so practice is cancelled. 

This is an unfortunate start, but February is a long time from now and we will have plenty of time in the pool to finish our season.  On behalf of the pool and facilities personnel, we are very sorry for the inconvenience.

For those interested, a good dryland exercise program would be a good substitute

3x 15x Sit-ups or crunches
2x 30seconds Bicycle kicks - while lying on back, similar exercise to crunches
2x 10x Push ups
5-10 Pull ups if you have the ability
15-20 each leg Lunges
2x 10-15 Squats
3x 8-10 Prone shoulder butterflies - with or without weight... soup cans work great
3x 8-10 Tricep extensions - again, small soup cans work perfect

Enough of each to be sore and tired, but never hurting.

I am very sorry to say today's practice, Tuesday the 27th, is cancelled. The power outage in the high school caused the pumps, boilers and sanitation systems in the pool to go down.  They are being looked at now.  The pool is closed while they get it up and running again.

Very sorry for the inconvenience.  We will try again Wednesday.

Practice is cancelled tonight, Monday 11/26.

Every time our building is closed, then our practices and/or meets will be cancelled.  Usually it is the weather, but when our building is closed to community education for any reason, that includes us.

  ItHello GHSC!  Happy post Thanksgiving!

We practice M-F at our usual times.

Attached below is the meet lineup for this Saturday's meet at East Kentwood.  Please see the sign up page for meet times and location.  Please check it for errors, those can be corrected but I have already turned in the entries so no other changes can be made.  I apologize for the mix up in payments.  If you did not manage to make a payment on line, I will be able to take payments this week.

Also, remember the standard rule, if our schools are closed due to weather or otherwise, so too is our pool.  So, if there is a snow day, our practices will be cancelled.

AND, Friday is the last day to RSVP for our at Home Zeeland dual meet December 1st.  I expect every athlete to attend the dual meets.  If you CANNOT make it (vacation, etc.) please RSVP NO.  Otherwise, everyone will be entered into the meet.  Look for  a SignUp Genius soon to see where you can help in hosting our dual meet.  It takes a TEAM!
