Welcome back to the practice pool!
Firstly, thanks and congratulations to everyone that attended the B meet at Hamilton. What a great group of kids! They had fun, and swam quite well for being out of the pool for so long. Not quite like riding a bike, even a few days out of the pool can allow for relapses of old habits, and lost stamina. We experienced some of each, but all-in-all a really good meet. Lots of P.R.'s, some individual champions, and lots of smiles.
Secondly, thanks to Amy Tolliver and anyone that helped her. They provided some wonderful SWAG bags for the kids filled with treats (as a coach I am less tolerant, as a dad watching kids enjoy... I'm overjoyed), and perhaps most importantly, some fantastic words of motivation we could all use. Thanks again Amy and Kim and anybody else that contributed to the kids enjoying the day so much.
Finally, here are the plans for this week:
M, Tu, W, Th practice as usual. Minnows, 6, Dolphins, 6:45, and Sharks 7. If you are a member of the A meet team, you are expected to practice. If you are not, you may consider the season completed (sorry about the lack of fanfare but our last week was a little peculiar) with the exception of our team banquet (more on that another day). However, if you are an alternate or relay team member of the A team we do expect you to practice. AND if you were a B team member and have a sibling coming to practice anyway, sure, you may attend.
Friday, 11&Up A meet at West Ottawa. Warm up starts at 3:30, the meet at 5. The earlier you get there, the better deck space we will have. Coaches will hope to be on deck about 2:45. It will be a long evening, appropriate snacks and warm deck clothes.
Saturday, 10&Under A meet at Zeeland! Please note the location... is is NOT East Kentwood. Warm up starts at 8:30, meet at 10. Coaches will hope to be on deck about 7:45. It will be a long day, appropriate snacks and warm deck clothes.
See you at practice,
Coach Hamm
